Funding options

Clear paths, transparent information

Here you'll find an overview of fees and the different ways therapy with me can be funded.

Fees

Billing follows the Gebührenordnung für Psychotherapeuten (GOP), the German fee schedule for psychotherapists. The exact amount depends on session length and the applicable rate — I'm happy to clarify the expected costs with you before we begin.

  • Individual therapy · 50 min

    Billed per GOP

  • Group therapy · 90 min

    Billed per GOP

  • Couples & family therapy · 100 min

    €190 (currently self-pay only)

  • Assessment & diagnostics

    per GOP and time required

Billing options at a glance

Four paths

  • · Private health insurance
  • · Beihilfe (civil servants' aid)
  • · Cost reimbursement via statutory health insurance
  • · Self-pay

Initial consultation

The first session is about getting to know each other. Together we clarify your concern and see whether working together feels right for you. There is no obligation.

Private health insurance & Beihilfe

As a licensed psychotherapist, I bill private health insurers and Beihilfe directly. Please check the specific conditions with your insurer before we begin.

Cost reimbursement via statutory health insurance

Even though I don't have a Kassensitz, your statutory health insurer may still cover the costs under certain conditions (more information in the DPtV leaflet, in German). Here's how it works in five steps:

  1. 1

Attend a psychotherapy consultation at a practice with public insurance (quickest via 116117 or 116117.de) and have the necessity confirmed (PTV 11).

  2. 2

Contact several therapists with a Kassensitz (public insurance seat) and document your attempts.

  3. 3

Get a consiliary report and urgency statement from your GP.

  4. 4

Apply to your health insurer for cost coverage.

  5. 5

Once approved, treatment begins at my practice.

I'll support you throughout the process.

Self-pay

You can also fund therapy privately. The advantages:

  • · no application procedure
  • · quick start of therapy
  • · nothing reported to health insurers
  • · full confidentiality
